When it comes to buying foundations, aku tuh picky super parah banget sebelum beli, pasti baca-baca review dulu, atau cobain dulu ke counter terus jalan-jalan gajadi beli, pulang lagi buka-buka review lagi, baru kapan-kapan kalau emang kepikiran melulu akhirnya dibeli. Ribet, but I think emang the right foundation is really-really important, kalau udah beli terus ga cocok atau kurang suka kan sayang, biasanya gak murah-murah amat harga foundation dibanding lipstick. Agree?

So as a result I have a mini collection of foundations yang memang semuanya aku suka banget, dan semuanya sreg banget. Most of them are usually lightweight foundations, with a bit of or really glowing effect. One of them is this Diorskin Nude Air Serum de Teint Foundation from DIOR. I'd really like to highlight this one particular foundation, karena dengan foundation yang satu ini, no matter how my skin condition is at the moment, hasilnya selalu flawless dan sesuai ekspektasi.

The packaging is so pretty and looks luxurious dengan botol kaca dove. And it comes with a pipette, like your other fancy night serums.

Sesuai description'nya, foundation ini texture-nya super ringan Ultra ringan malah kali ya. Saking ringannya aku biasanya apply foundation ini dari pipette applikator'nya langsung ke wajah aku, karena kalau taro di punggung tangan dulu bakalan langsung netes kemana-mana.

Foto di bawah ini adalah foto dari just one drop of the Dior Foundation di tangan aku, as you can see it's very very runny and watery, dan hampir menetes jatuh padahal hanya setetes kecil aja. That's why biasanya aku langsung totol-totol product ini ke muka aja dr pipette'nya utk aplikasi, supaya proses dandannya gak jadi such a mess. hehe

Waktu di totol ke wajah pun harus agak pelan2 juga dan hati-hati, karena kalau kebanyakkan product yang keluar langsung ngalir bebas kayak air mata. ini paling nyebelin kalau kejadiannya di jidat terus foundation'nya turun ke alis sampe kadang kena eyeshadow yang sudah di blend 10 tahun terakhir. All you eyeshadow blenders know how I feel. lol

I'm not sure about the shade selection available in Indonesia, but I use No. 010 which is a bit red-based shade, dan kalau di swatch di tangan juga agak a bit too pink, tapi surprisingly ketika dipake di wajah hasilnya masih sangat natural. 

The coverage is buildable from sheer to medium coverage. Berhubung foundation ini memang ditujukan untuk para pecinta nude-radiant-natural looking result, application with 1 layer emang coverage nya sheer banget, dan buat buat aku pribadi coverage'nya masih kurang cukup dengan 1 layer saja. Tapi sesuai claim'nya, foundation ini emang meant to deliver undetectable film of make-up sih. It's just aku personally prefer a bit more coverage. So what I do is to build the coverage up with 2 layers dan hasilnya jadi BAGUS banget. Coverage nya jadi pas banget, tapi finish'nya tetep velvety, dan glowing effect nya pun makin terlihat imo dibanding hanya pake 1 layer karena dengan 1 layer masih banyak texture / spot di wajah yang masih terlihat sehingga hasilnya kurang flawless and put the glowing effect aside from the spotlight. 

As for the finish, this foundation has a velvety finish which is not as dewy as other dewy foundations. Ini sebenernya bikin aku awalnya agak kurang suka sama foundation ini, karena aku lebih terbiasa pake foundation yang efeknya lebih dewy & glowy - almost wet looking gitu. Tapi setelah beberapa kali pake aku malah lebih suka sama yang velvety finish seperti foundation Dior ini karena kulit wajah terlihat super smooth walaupun kulit aku lagi kering banget atau pores nya lagi menggila kesurupan dan jd kelihatan gede-gede kayak kulit jeruk. Sedangkan foundation lain dengan dewy finish, emang bagus banget juga, tapi kalau kondisi kulit lagi kurang kooperatif, jadi kurang ampuh utk membuat hasil kulit flawless.

APPLICATION TIPS

Karena texture nya yang super ringan, I like to use this foundation with a dense buffing brush dibanding pake beauty blender. For any foundations with a very lightweight texture, emang imo mendingan pake brush karena beauty blender will suck up the products a lot jadinya boros and not much coverage left on the face.

These are the brushes I love to use with this foundation: MAKE UP FOR EVER Artisan Brush #154 & ZOEVA 104 (Buffer).

Di antara 2 brush ini, brush favorite aku untuk foundation ini adalah Zoeva brush #104, karena bristles nya lebih dense dan lebih soft, sehingga hasilnya pun lebih flawless and ga ada streaky lines. I only use the MUFE brush with this foundation kalau brush Zoeva aku lagi dicuci, lol.

Another thing that I like about this foundation is that is has SPF 25 PA++ for sun protection. Walaupun ada SPF my skin doesn't look crazy throughout the day, cuma agak makin glowing aja kalau udah sore-sore, not sure if the glowing effect atau itu sebenernya krn ada SPF jadinya "mantul". Anyway masih bagus sih, ga jadi crazy shiny gitu and I actually like the glowing effect throughout the day, so good job Dior. Oh btw this thing smells good! It smells like baby product! Yum!

The only turn off for me is the price of course, coz it's DIOR. And it's great. And it's expensive (haha). It's priced around 900K here in Indonesia (not sure the exact price nya berapa). I bought this in Changi Duty Free couple of months ago, which a bit cheaper. But I have to say walaupun mahal tapi foundation ini worth the money real bad! 

TL-DR:

- Pipette applicator for precise amount 

- Ultra lightweight texture

- Velvety finish 

- Sheer coverage, buildable to medium coverage

- Contains SPF 25 PA++

- Better result when used with foundation brush than with beauty blender
